PSA: Traffic Notice – Alabama Street Repaving Project

Repaving will begin on Alabama Street from US Hwy 411 to the city limit sign on Tucker Road

starting Monday, September 22, 2025. The project is expected to take about 35 days (weather permitting).

Work could begin later this week in preparation for next week’s start date.

Important Details:

• No lane closures during school traffic:

o Morning: 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM

o Afternoon: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

• Crews are aware of school events such as the Homecoming Parade on September 26th and will not be working on this day.

They have also been asked to make sure the side of the road on Alabama street is clear for people to park and watch the parade.

• On Fridays with home football games, crews will finish by 4:00 PM.
• Expect some delays as the existing surface will be milled and repaved.
