Odenville Certifies Unopposed Election Winners

The Odenville City Council has officially certified the winners for four municipal election spots where candidates ran unopposed for the upcoming Aug. 26 election. Mayor Rodney “Buck” Christian, Place 3 Councilman Jimmy Bailey, Place 5 Councilman Don Smith, and Place 4 Councilwoman Kelli Sanders were all certified last week.

Two longtime council members, Ed Brasher (21 years, Place 1) and Jeff Forman (Place 2), chose not to seek re-election. Their seats will be decided between John Kirkland and Elaine Mize (Place 1), and Tammy Crow and Holly Watson (Place 2).

The newly elected mayor and council members will officially begin their terms on Nov. 3, 2025. No runoff will be required since only two candidates qualified in each contested race.
